Dear Brothers and Sisters,

It's time to vote for your Local 623 officers. I can't stress the importance of this vote enough, within a year from our contract negotiations. These negotiations are important to each employee and their families. The importance of having the right officers at the negotiation table as well. Local 623 Lives matter slate is the one to vote for.

I've been a loyal union member of Local 623 for over 30 years and work in the UPS building on Oregon Avenue. For 17 of those years I drove a package car and I've held alternate steward positions in two driving centers. I’m currently the head steward in the Oregon Ave. Preload.

I've seen my fair share of local officers, multiple slates over my time here with the company. I also ran with the Unity slate last election, as I didn't have faith in the upcoming young guys who had zero experience. BOY, was I wrong! Richard Hooker and his team have impressed me over the last couple years. When I call on an issue, they react immediately. They show up to the building when I ask them too, and provide support when needed. They have taken grievances to panel with positive results, past leaders would have told me to stand down.

One major improvement to this local that astonishes me is the life brought back to a Union Hall that has been just short of stale for many years. Creating separate committees to engage members young an old, women and men. Taking stewards to panel so they may experience the end game of grievance decisions. Creating an amazing website that is packed with resources for every member and employee. The last Executive Board never updated their free generic site. Taking rental cars and the train to panel in Virginia, instead of a leased car saves the Hall and members’ money. Setting up a contract committee to address the issues within our supplemental contract, so they may attack the issues at negotiations that affect our members.

Richard Hooker Jr. and the 623 Lives Matter Slate have brought this local Into the future. The future I had always seen for my Union Hall, but only achieved in the last few years. I commend all of the BAs for their hard work and devotion to each and every member!. Keep up the good work!

I am reaching out to my fellow Oregon Avenue employees, as well as my brothers and sisters at the PHL Air Hub, to make an informed decision and the correct vote for this election. Don't believe the campaign shtick, believe the facts!

VOTE RICHARD HOOKER 623 LIVES MATTER SLATE!

Keep moving towards the future, not backwards in time with United slate!

In solidarity,
