Richard Hooker Jr.

SEC. TREASURER & PRINCIPAL OFFICER

Richard Hooker Jr. is running for reelection to lead Teamsters Local 623. Since elected “Hook” has made history mobilizing hundreds of members, winning a no-concessions Greyhound contract in the midst of a pandemic, posting record breaking grievance pay-outs for UPS workers, and shoring up union finances by growing the Local’s general fund by over 1.3 million dollars. Now he’s ready to build on that success by fighting for a UPS contract that provides living wages for part-time members, ends the unequal wages and rights of 22.4 drivers, and ensures we protect Teamster jobs by fighting UPS subcontracting.

Last year Clarence fought back after the company tried to short workers on earned holiday pay.
